Physical Therapist

Delivers hands-on patient care across multiple settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient rehabilitation, and acute care environments. Operates under the direct supervision of the Rehab Services Director and the Lead Physical Therapist.

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, develop and implement treatment plans, and complete discharge processes in an outpatient rehabilitation setting.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary teamincluding physicians, nurses, and fellow therapiststo ensure optimal patient outcomes across a range of diagnoses.

• Provide accurate, timely, and quality documentation that demonstrates medical necessity and tracks patient progress toward established goals.
• Provide coverage in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings as needed.

• Prepare and submit insurance prior authorizations in accordance with payer requirements.
• Effectively manage a busy caseload with a high level of independence, seeking guidance from senior staff when appropriate.
• Coordinate weekend, holiday, and vacation schedules in partnership with the Lead Physical Therapist.
• Work closely with a team of rehabilitation professionalsincluding Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Athletic Trainers, Rehab Technicians, and front office staffto ensure efficient operations and high-quality patient care.

• Actively participate in department-wide and hospital-wide Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
• Attend monthly discipline-specific and departmental meetings to support communication and alignment.
• Maintain compliance with all licensing and credentialing requirements, continuing education standards, and documentation guidelines (including CMS, Joint Commission, and Medicaid).
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental needs.

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree (required)

Certifications/Licenses:

• Valid North Carolina Physical Therapist License (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)

Required Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of physical therapy practices in outpatient settings; experience in acute and/or inpatient rehabilitation is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with leadership, physicians, staff, and the community
• Strong time management skills and efficiency in clinical documentation
