Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - PRN Weekdays

Administers physical therapy treatments to patients, working under direction of and as assistant to the Physical Therapist,

• Administers exercises, therapeutic massages.
• Instructs, motivates, and assists patients and caregivers to learn and improve functional activities such as perambulation, transfers and daily living activities and home exercise program.
• Observes patients during treatments and compiles and interprets data on patients' responses to treatments and progress and reports orally or in writing to Physical Therapist.
• Fits patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and assistive devices such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
• Demonstrates competency in all procedures within scope of practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served; obtains and interprets information in terms of the patient's needs; demonstrates a knowledge of growth and development and an understanding of the range of treatments needed by these patients to include: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. .
• Confers with Director of Physical Therapy to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.
• Performs clerical and housekeeping duties within the department, as necessary.
• Maintains licensure and professional expertise through on-site and off-site continuing education.
• Addresses complaints and resolves problems as necessary in the Director's absence.
• Supervises aides and volunteers in compliance with related guidelines, rules and regulations.

Requirements

• .Associate's degree (A.A.) from an accredited college or university in a Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience and/or training.
