Job Title: Pharmacist
Location: Cincinnati Health Department neighborhood health pharmacies in Cincinnati, Ohio
Job Overview :
- We are seeking a Registered Pharmacist to work in support of the Cincinnati Health Department neighborhood health pharmacies.
- This is a 40 hour per week position.
- Position with Rockglade is a temporary hire, but there is an opportunity to be hired directly by the Cincinnati Health Department at the end of the position based on performance.
- Position duration is estimated June 2025 through March 2026.
Responsibilities :
- This employee efficiently operates a clinical pharmacy including dispersement of and educational counseling about the prescriptions issued.
- Employee ensures patients receive proper care related to pharmacy services and performs a variety administrative functions relative to pharmacy services within the Cincinnati Health Department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Pharmacy or have a Doctorate Degree (PharmD) from an accredited college or university with major course work in pharmacology.
- Have, or have the ability to obtain, a valid State of Ohio Pharmacy License.
- Valid Driver's License.
Examples of work performed:
- Prepares and fills prescriptions as authorized by physicians and other appropriate health care professionals
- Provides instructions and counsels patients on appropriate use of medicines.
- Develops and maintains medical records with complete documentation for each patient
- Maintains a variety of logs and medical books relating to types of drugs, diseases, and drug interactions
- Prepares treatment reports as necessary.
- Answers questions and provides medical and health education information to patients
- Interprets and evaluates medical terminology and claims
- Assesses and evaluates patient's needs.
- Provides drug education, counseling, and treatment.
- Refers special needs patients to proper authorities for treatment.
- Maintains compliance with all applicable health laws, codes, and regulations.
- Provides responsible staff assistance to the Pharmacy Services Manager including participating in the development of health and pharmaceutical manuals.
- Maintains inventory of drugs and supplies for assigned pharmacy
- Contacts distributors and orders supplies as necessary.
- Stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of pharmacology.
