Peer Support Specialist

Milestone LLC is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Peer Support Specialist to join our team. In this unique role, you will use your lived experience of overcoming mental health challenges or substance use disorders to support and inspire clients in their own recovery journeys. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will provide one-on-one and group support, helping clients to develop coping strategies, work through challenges, and build resilience. Your personal insights and understanding will be invaluable in fostering a trusting and supportive environment that encourages clients to share their experiences and goals.

In addition to facilitating recovery-oriented activities, you will assist clients in accessing necessary resources and services, such as housing, employment, and mental health support. You will serve as an advocate for clients, helping to empower them to make informed decisions about their recovery paths. Requirements

• Must have personal experience with mental health challenges and/or substance use recovery.
• Completion of a Certified Peer Support Specialist training program preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with clients effectively.
• Ability to inspire hope and motivate clients in their recovery process.
• Knowledge of recovery principles and support resources in the community.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in peer support.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Experience in a support role or group facilitation is a plus.
