Ocean Export Agent

We have an exciting opportunity for an Export Agent in our Houston Projects Team to coordinate the movement of our customers export shipments. You will be the main point of contact for coordination between customers shipment exports, customs brokers, and shipping carriers.

Manage Ocean Export shipments from A to Z

• Open files in ouroperational software ( Cargowise) for each shipment received.
• Contact the shipper andthe overseas agent to coordinate the shipment
• Responsible to reviewcustomers' documentation (commercial invoice, Packing list, Hazmatdocumentation), shipping manifest, andissue transport bill oflading. Must verify Weigh/Dims/Volumes/Quantities
• Ensure all steps anddocuments are aligned with local and foreign compliance requirements.
• File export customs
• Choose vendor, directflow of Ocean traffic from pick up to the overseas destinations.
• Responsible to create,issue, and send our invoice for the shipment to the customer.
• Responsible to approveand log vendors invoices (Ex: steamship line, truckers, terminals,overseas branches) into the system.
• Communicate with thecustomer and the overseas agent through out the shipment
• Assess challenges,create solutions, communicate options and follow through with resolutionwhen necessary.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experiencemanaging ocean exportshipments from A to Z
• Must possess goodEnglish written and Oral communication skills.
• Be organized, capable tomulti-task and detail-oriented
• Good communicationskills
• Bachelor's degree
• 1-2 years cargo wiseexperience is a plus.
