Hunger and food insecurities are realities in Ocean County and beyond. Bright Harbor Healthcare is proud to announce our commitment to fostering wellness in our community through The Nook.

This initiative is designed to provide dignified food security services to individuals and families who lack access to healthy and affordable food through onsite distribution of food and pet pantry supplies, hosting community dining events, home-delivered meals for homebound and at-risk Ocean County residents, helping clients achieve self-sustainability, and developing food recovery partnerships with local businesses to reduce food waste.

At BHH, we work to change the thought process to include all social determinants of health including: mental health, substance use issues, community safety, education, economic and food security. The food security program will connect the community with our food pantry, host congregate dining, establish Ocean County's Food Recovery Network as well as providing case management support for barrier reduction, community awareness, and follow-up services.
