Logistics Clerk

The Logistics Clerk is a full-time, on-site position located at Piping Technology & Products, Inc., 3701 Holmes Road, Houston, TX 77051. All candidates are encouraged to ensure that they are within a commutable distance to this location before applying. This position will perform duties as assigned by management in the Shipping Department. Communication is very important to this role. Must be able to communicate with vendors, customers, warehouse teams, and internal departments. The strongest candidates will have knowledge of tracking shipments, compliance, safety, inventory control, and document control. Seeking a highly-motivated, high-energy member to add to our busy team. The ability to multi-task and prioritize is a must. This position works overtime when asked by management to do so. The best candidate for this role will have logistics, shipping, and data entry experience. Experience handling, receiving, and shipping hazardous materials desired. Forklift and warehouse experience is a plus. The right candidate will excel in a results-driven, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Carrier Coordination: willing to learn how to negotiate rates with carriers

Data Entry, filing, and scanning

Answering and forwarding calls to the correct organizational departments

Ability to handle a physical workload

Shipment Planning: scheduling, tracking, and delivery coordination

Documentation: Managing all shipping and receiving documentation. This includes bills of lading, invoices, and customs documentation where applicable

Inventory & Customer Service Support

Assist customers with shipping inquiries

Perform administrative duties as required

Requirements

Qualifications:

1 year experience in shipping or logistics

A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required. College coursework preferred

Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel)

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, or move around for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift and carry packages 30 lbs. +
