Job Description


Seegmiller & Associates is a reputable law firm specializing in litigation cases. Mr. Seegmiller works exclusively for the Richard Harris Law Firm Litigation Department. We are dedicated to providing top-notch legal services to our clients. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in assisting Mr. Seegmiller in all stages of the litigation process.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Mr. Seegmiller in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions by conducting research, reviewing legal documents, and organizing case files
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
  • Manage the firm's case management system, ensuring all case information is accurately recorded and readily accessible
  • Review and summarize depositions, witness statements, and other case-related materials
  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to schedule hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings
  • Conduct legal research to support attorneys' arguments and provide relevant case law and statutes
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for trial, including organizing exhibits, compiling witness lists, and preparing trial notebooks
  • Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and court personnel, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the litigation process

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and certification from an accredited paralegal program
  • Previous experience as a litigation paralegal
  • Proficiency in legal research tools, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with e-discovery software and document management systems
  • Knowledge of state and federal court rules and procedures
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity
