Leasing Manager

The Opportunity: We are looking to hire an experienced Leasing Manager who can lead the leasing operations at one of the group's upcoming ventures in offline retail in the apparel sector. The role requires 10-12 years of experience in retail estate/ leasing: the need for this upcoming venture is to setup and scale retail spaces for global brands at a rapid pace.

Key Responsibilities:

Leasing space in malls/ high streets:

• Network and leverage existing relationships with builders, mall operators and real estate agents so as to identify key locations for setting up retail stores.
• Monitor market trends and conduct market research to generate insights about locations and pricing.
• Coordinate with leadership team to gather requirements: # of stores to be opened, budget, key locations, etc. Also work with the brand team to understand their requirements for the retail setup.
• Manage the entire process of leasing/ acquisition including analysis of location, deal structuring, legal and commercial due diligence, negotiation, etc. Undertake renegotiation of contracts where deals are up for renewal.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and company policies. Maintain accurate records of leasing activities and present in monthly MIS.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• 10-12 years of experience in real estate sector is a must, with at least 5 years in the field of leasing. Experience in offline retail especially apparel and working with global brands would be preferred.
• Proven record of successful lease negotiations and an existing network with regional/ national mall developers, builders and real estate agents.
• Must have pan India experience - deep understanding of the market in key cities.
• Degree in Business Administration (MBA preferred) or any other related field.

Key skills and knowledge:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Should be a strong negotiator.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders (internal leadership, brands, real estate partners, etc.).
• End-to-end knowledge of leasing operations (documentation, compliance, etc.).

Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer.

Location: Bangalore, with travel as required.

Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience. For the right candidate, compensation is not a constraint.
