Lead Java Developer

We are expanding our Engineering Team in Mumbai and Kolkata and looking to hire a Senior Java Developer to join our team. This role will report to the Senior Engineering Manager.

This position is for a savvy software professional who has both technical expertise and experience leading a team of junior engineers.

• Proven experience in full-stack/backend development.
• In this role, you will be responsible for helping to build a high-performing team of engineers and lead this team to deliver products with quality, timeliness, and scalability.
• From conception to deployment, you will collaborate with Product Managers and other Engineering teams to ensure the development work aligns with our mission of delivering a remarkable experience to our customers.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members
• Must be hands-on to provide technical solutions to business problems.
• Logical thinker with the ability to clearly communicate the hypothesis.
• Work cross-functionally with various other teams, including Product Management, SQE, Customer Success Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, and/or external business/design partner to drive forward results.
• Demonstrate a passion for developing well-architected and elegant real-time and high-volume SaaS.
• Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies

Requirements

Qualifications:

• BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years experience as a Java Developer

Technical Expertise:

• Strong JAVA development skills.
• Strong understanding of distributed computing and code performance implications
• 3+ years experience with web services (consuming or creating) with REST or SOAP
• Experience with the entire Software Development Life Cycle
• Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience within the Software design/architecture process

Great to have

• Experience with HBase, Kafka, NoSQL, Zookeeper, Ignite
• Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
• Hands-on experience with Python
• Years of JavaScript experience.
• Expertise with MVC, and strong working knowledge with at least 1 App Server (Jetty, JBoss, Tomcat, etc)
• An eye for detail with strong logical and critical thinking skills. Must possess the ability to analyze a situation for potential future problems
• Excellent communicator both written and verbal. Proven track record of facilitating team discussions for design, development, or production troubleshooting and ensuring the team moves forward to complete action items. Effectively communicating proposed features showcases your ability to listen and learn from your peers and team
• Ability to excel working in a team environment complemented by a strong work ethic that takes accountability and produces results
• Aptitude to cultivate a high-performing team culture that meets or exceeds key success metrics. Ability to attract talent, improve team morale, and develop engineers? careers and goals. Help us create and keep the Dream Team!
