About the Role:
We are seeking a Lab Manager to oversee our research and testing laboratory operations. The Lab Manager will be responsible for ensuring that laboratory processes are efficient, safe, and adhere to industry standards while leading a team of technicians and engineers in performing high-quality testing and analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily laboratory operations, including personnel management, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Oversee laboratory testing processes and ensure compliance with relevant safety and quality standards.
- Develop and implement lab protocols, procedures, and best practices to optimize workflow and improve efficiency.
- Monitor laboratory performance metrics and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the engineering and product development teams to support research initiatives and commercial projects.
- Train and mentor laboratory staff on testing procedures, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
- Prepare and present reports on lab activities, findings, and progress to senior management.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper maintenance and calibration.
- Manage the laboratory budget and control expenditure to optimize resource allocation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a laboratory setting, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety standards and best practices.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with laboratory data analysis and reporting tools.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory management software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
