the world's largest maker of smartphone cover glass, will begin manufacturing the product in India by the end of 2024 through its joint venture with Noida-based contract manufacturer Optiemus Infracom

Ltd () , which will be called Bharat Innovation Glass Technologies.

The JV company will manufacture finished front and back cover glass for smartphones and the plant is likely to come up in Tamil Nadu.

The Indian facility will meet the demand for the domestic consumers first and then expand its operations overseas.

Function/Dept Purpose Statemen:

Plan, and coordinate the activities supporting the plant's objectives in Safety including:

Ensure the organization's compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Lead Design & implementations of EHS management programs during project and steady state

Ensures Safety Practices and Standards per organization Safety Policies at Site during Project Construction and for steady-state plant operations.

EHS support for the business group for data monitoring and reporting.

Develop a cohesive team approach to EHS management including the contractors.

Position Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Conduct safety surveys, inspection of work sites

Identifying potential safety hazards & risk assessments to recognize hazards and recommend Corrective Action to eliminate hazard or reduce the risk.

Train employees on site specific EHS procedures.

Conduct audit to identify areas of improvement.

Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.

Maintain Incident data and conduct Incident Investigation and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)

Analyze EHS Monitoring system and devise action plan for improving performance.

Conduct reviews of EHS Management system

risk assessment/ Job Safety Analysis.

Support in implementation of Contractor Safety Procedure.

Coordinate for Industrial Hygiene activities.

Prepare and implement the monitoring Plan.

Support implementation of Integrated Management System.

Minimum Requirements:

Diploma/Degree in Engineering & Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety with 5-7 years experience

Formal training for Safety & Risk Management

Experience working with Pollution control board, Fire Department, Industrial Safety Department

Good Interpersonal & Communication Skill

Excellent verbal/written communication skills

Greenfield/ brown field project experience
