IT Project Engineer

The IT Systems Engineer for Professional Services is a strategic technical position within the organization. This position is responsible for maintaining the design and integrity of customer's systems, along with assisting the Project Manager with complex projects.

Requirements

• IT support related to technical issues with Microsoft's core business applications, as well as virtual environments built on Citrix, Microsoft, and VMware.
• Design, implement, and support services for Microsoft related technologies, to include Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Azure, Entra, Office 365, etc.
• Implement system solutions for customers using technologies that meet their needs.
• Implement and support disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam.
• Technical services and support at the network level, to include WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security appliances.
• Implement and support remote access solutions, to include VPN, Remote Desktop Services, and Citrix.
• Communicate with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notify them of impending changes or agreed outages.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

• Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
• Escalate service or project issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levels
• Business awareness: specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals
• Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalog and how it relates to customer's needs
• Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
• Responsible for entering time and expenses in ConnectWise as it occurs
• Work through project tickets and phases in ConnectWise as assigned by a Project Manager

• Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft, Citrix, SonicWALL, Cisco, or VMware.
• 3-5 years of experience in an IT Support capacity.
• 1-2 years of experience in IT design, server migration, or deployment of new IT systems.
• Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care.
• Diagnosis skills of technical issues.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
• Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and listen. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand, walk, and drive or ride in a motor vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Must have the ability to travel, sometimes with short notice and be able to provide after-hours support and weekend implementation as needed.
