Irrigation Technician

The Irrigation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems. This role involves troubleshooting system issues, ensuring efficient water usage, and performing regular inspections and adjustments to optimize system performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems.
• Repair leaks, replace, and adjust sprinkler heads as needed.
• Ensure landscape maintenance tasks are carried out efficiently, on schedule, and in a safe manner.
• Help to monitor inventory, order supplies, and maintain purchase documentation.
• Dig trenches and pits to install, repair, and maintain underground irrigation pipes and sprinkler systems in diverse landscapes such as gardens and lawns.

Requirements

Position Requirements

• Good knowledge of turf grass, plant material, and horticultural practices.
• Must be well organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to repair and troubleshoot commercial irrigation systems as required.
• Experience to program irrigation clocks to ensure proper watering of district landscaping.
• Solid understanding of basic pipe sizing and basic irrigation design concepts.
• Strong work ethic/self-starter with the ability to prioritize and multitask.

Physical Abilities

• Able to sit, stand, and kneel for long periods of time.
