Housekeeper

Join our dedicated team at Yoakum Community Hospital as a Full-time Housekeeper! Our hospital, serving the community since 1922, prides itself on providing compassionate healthcare in a welcoming environment. As a Housekeeper, you won't just be cleaning; you'll be making a significant impact on the health and well-being of our patients and their families. We are a 23-bed critical access hospital managed by the Community Hospital Corporation, and we're looking for someone special to help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

In this critical role, you will:

• Keep patient areas spotless by sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing bathrooms and showers.
• Ensure that our entrances are inviting, picking up litter and emptying trash cans daily.
• Organize utility and storage rooms to keep our supplies in order.
• Distribute freshly laundered linens and articles with care.
• Disinfect and scrub areas to keep infection at bay!
• Maintain beautiful waiting areas and offices by dust mopping and wet mopping floors every day.
• Take charge of waste management by emptying wastebaskets and cleaning carpets and furniture.
• Add a shine to our hospital by dusting furniture and polishing metalwork.
• Leave no surface untouched by cleaning walls, woodwork, windows, and doors, while safely using a ladder.
• Transport waste to disposal areas efficiently.
• Replenish necessary bathroom supplies so our facilities remain fully stocked.
• Use appropriate cleaning solutions and materials, labeling them correctly.
• Be an attentive team member by reporting issues or equipment problems to the Director.
• Prepare your work area for success by keeping cleaning equipment disinfected at the end of each day.
• Help out with moving furniture and equipment as directed.
• Enjoy the flexibility of taking rotating call as assigned.

Requirements include:

• Full-time availability where you can make a difference every single day.
• Previous experience in housekeeping is preferred but not mandatory.
• Flexibility to work day shifts, including weekends and holidays, because our mission never stops!
• A keen eye for detail, with outstanding organizational skills to keep everything in order.
• The ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a sanitary environment without fail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills that will brighten our patients? day.
• A proactive work ethic and a positive attitude to keep the team spirit high.
• Willingness to comply with hospital policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Adherence to all State and Federal regulations and guidelines.
