Silvur's platform engages and supports members over age 50 with a focus on helping members navigate critical retirement decisions including Medicare and Social Security. Members over age 50 are credit union's largest deposit holders, hold over 80% of US household wealth and are the first generation to retire without the benefit of a pension. Silvur makes it easy to help them. Our data platform powers insights and offers to capture the $70T retirement wallet. Our new insurance subsidiary offers Medicare insurance and more to our partner credit unions and their members.

Silvur is at an exciting inflection point. We are experiencing rapid adoption of our platform by leading credit unions and we are looking to expand our footprint of credit unions we serve.

As our Head of Legal/ Compliance you will be responsible for all legal and compliance matters for Silvur and our affiliates We're looking for a leader who will embrace Silvur's vision for serving Americans age 50+, and their trusted financial services providers, and translate that into a clear and actionable legal and compliance framework for our company.

Responsibilities:

• Advise CEO on new laws, existing laws and regulatory proposals that would impact our business
• Maintaining knowledge of the company's legal documents and operations including the company data room
• Own regulatory compliance including NCUA, GLBA, HIPPA, A11Y and state privacy rules
• Set up and maintain our insurance licences across 5+ states, including agent licensing. Own our Medicare insurance compliance program
• Legally filing for trademarks and copyright of intellectual property and managing all IP
• Manage our SOC 2, Type II compliance program in partnership with our SVP Engineering/ CISO
• Lead relationships with regulators (NCUA, insurance commissioners, CFPB) and government agencies (Social Security Administration, Medicare etc).
• Partner with the CTO on data privacy and other data security matters, ensuring compliance across the states we operate in
• Partner with CEO, product and engineering to build new regulated products
• Draft and negotiate all commercial agreements (contracts, broker agreements, addendums) and customer facing policies
• Draft and maintain all company policies & procedures including human resources policies.
• Maintain board minutes, company cap table and other legal matters related to company financing

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school (or foreign equivalent)
• Membership in at least 1 U.S. State Bar, with good standing
• A business-oriented lawyer with 7+ years experience at a law firm and/or in house, with deep knowledge of the regulatory landscape surrounding our platform (NCUA, insurance, data privacy).
• A thoughtful legal and compliance leader who is ready to roll up their sleeves and execute across a wide variety of work. You will be acting in an individual contributor role
• Significant prior experience drafting and negotiating legal documents.
• Experience working with sales team to support contract negotiations
• Ability to both build the strategy and draft the required documentation (eg we use outside counsel selectively to provide expert domain experience)
• Committed to designing customer-friendly solutions that meet regulatory obligations and able to drive decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience building new products and strategies with a focus on supporting internal and external stakeholders in their goals
• Love working in small companies where you can see the impact of your work.
• Have a bias for action

You will be an employee of our holding company Silvur Technology Services. Employees receive a total compensation package including salary, options, health benefits and 401k with employer contribution. This role will require periodic in-person time, both for leadership team meetings and external partner meetings and conferences.
