What You'll Do:
As General Counsel, you will lead and manage all legal aspects of its investment management platform. This role will be instrumental in structuring, negotiating, and executing complex real estate transactions while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements. The General Counsel will provide strategic legal guidance to executive leadership, manage external legal counsel relationships, and align legal strategies with the company?s broader business objectives.

What You'll Own:
  • Lead and oversee all legal matters related to Coastal Ridge?s investment management platform, including fund structuring, governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Structure, negotiate, and execute complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and financing arrangements.
  • Ensure full compliance with SEC regulations and other applicable legal frameworks governing private investment funds and real estate transactions.
  • Provide legal counsel on corporate governance, risk management, and contractual matters to safeguard the organization's interests.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and coordinate legal strategies across business units to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
  • Offer strategic legal guidance to executive leadership, supporting key business initiatives and proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Advise on legal and regulatory considerations related to the formation, structuring, and ongoing compliance of REITs, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee legal due diligence, documentation, and risk assessment for investment activities.
  • Perform additional duties and lead special projects as assigned, contributing to the company?s legal and strategic initiatives.
What You'll Bring:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in a state bar.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience, ideally acquired at a leading law firm and/or in-house at a real estate investment firm or fund manager.
  • Extensive expertise in real estate fund formation and/or real estate transactions.
  • Proven experience with REIT compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of private equity, institutional investment structures, and real estate financing.
  • Familiarity with securities laws, investor relations, and compliance frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional negotiation, contract drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while collaborating across teams.
