Job Description


We are looking for a Gage/Quality Technician. This position is integral in supporting manufacturing operations, tracking, and managing the gauges used in automotive manufacturing. In addition, you will work with quality engineers each day to conduct gauge correlation studies and confirm the gauges comply with standards. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare calibration reports certificates and maintain calibration data and history using our tracking system
  • Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
  • Perform gauge and capability studies on new gages
  • Track gauge repair history, costs of premature failing non-calibrated gauges, and obtain quotes for cost-effective repairs
  • Make recommendations on calibration frequency based on data
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Complete monthly layered audit of floor gauges
  • Assist the plant in troubleshooting any issues for the floor CMMs and gauge failures
  • Calibrate, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure conformance with established Standard Operating Procedures
  • Coordinated equipment calibration services with multiple facilities and vendors
  • Train personnel on gaging techniques and measurements
