Founding Sales Lead AI EdTech (US K12)

Location: Remote (Preferred: FL, TX, CA, NYC)

Type: Full-time | AI EdTech | $60k Base + Uncapped Commission + Early Equity

EQL Edtech is hiring on behalf of a rapidly growing, UC Berkeley-backed AI EdTech startup that's transforming how teachers grade saving them thousands of hours while improving student outcomes. With 30% month-over-month growth and 2M+ assignments already graded, this is your opportunity to join a rocket-ship at the ground level.

We're looking for a Founding Sales Lead to join the team, working directly with the CEO to own and scale the sales function.

What You'll Do

Own the full K-12 SaaS sales cycle from lead to close

Convert teacher champions into school- and district-wide rollouts

Build and test both bottom-up and top-down sales strategies

Generate and qualify admin leads from schools already using the free product

Create marketing/sales assets, manage CRM, and exceed revenue goals

Support renewals, upsells, onboarding, and training

Gather customer feedback to inform product development

Requirements

Have 26+ years of success selling EdTech to US K12 curriculum leaders

Thrive in ambiguity, with a proactive and scrappy approach

Are organized, process-driven, and motivated by impact

Communicate clearly and effectively with educators and admins

Are excited about the potential of AI to transform education

Are a GenAI power user or eager to become one

Bonus Points For:

Deep experience selling into Florida, Texas, California, or NYC

Background as a former teacher or school/district admin

Experience at companies like Nearpod, Newsela, NoRedInk, Writable, etc.
