Financial Software Engineer Lead - Trading/Risk Systems

Arena Investors, LP is a global investment management firm specializing in credit investingboth private and public. Due to a new investment mandate, Arena is vastly expanding its credit market investment strategy.

Arena's Head of Software Development is looking for hands-on software team lead who will focus on market trading and risk systems including integrations with counterparties and internal reporting infrastructure. The right candidate will balance technology skills with financial domain knowledge and good communication skills. As a development lead, this position would manage 2+ direct reports and would drive projects from start to finish while working directly with their business constituents in portfolio management, risk and trading operations.

This is a great opportunity to be at the "ground floor" of a new business unit that will be Arena's growth driver over the next 5 years. Ideal candidates will be organized, analytical, self-motivated, resourceful and able to work effectively with all internal functional groups.

Responsibilities:

• Support all systems for trading, risk and market data: including configuration, integration and vendor management.
• Enhancing trading capabilities and analysis with proprietary software development.
• Work with Portfolio Management, Risk Officer, Trade Operations on data sourcing, data processing, data analysis, automation and business intelligence. Translate their financial models and reports into technical specifications and either work with SAS vendors to implement and/or develop with internal/external resources.
• Integrate and enhance reporting with vendor systems and in-house data warehouse and secmaster.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment and the capability to think broadly about the business and match problems to creative technology solutions.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science or equivalent.
• 10+ years experience in investment managers, hedge funds, with a focus on market-trading workflows.
• Direct experience with Trading Systems (Broadridge/Eze/Charles River etc)
• Direct experience with Risk Platforms (Broadridge/RiskMetrics/MSCI etc)
• .Net Technology stack including C#, Entity Framework, MS-SQL, Nancy for REST & Web APIs
• Microsoft SQL Server and related concepts (T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Reporting Server, ETLs, data transformation)
• Financial Modeling experience with emphasis on portfolio accounting, trade lifecycle, and risk.
• Experience with third party Portfolio Accounting Systems (Geneva/VPM/Investran) and are a big plus.
• Comfortable with Agile/Scrum SDLC.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
