Family Law Associate (Mid-Level)

Leech Tishman Fuscaldo & Lampl, LLC is seeking to hire a Family Law Associate with 2-6 years of experience in litigation to work in our State College, PA office. Although family law experience is preferred, it is not required. As a Family Law attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal counsel on a wide range of family law matters, including divorce/separations, child custody, spousal/child support, equitable distribution, pre/post-nuptial agreements, adoption, guardianship, protection from abuse matters, and more.

The position requires significant client contact and the ability to excel when working independently. Superior client communication, writing, research, computer, and organizational skills are a must. Experience required in drafting initial pleadings, conducting depositions, preparing and responding to written discovery, and extensive motions practice.

Description:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Providing legal counsel to clients on a wide range of family law matters, including divorce/separations, child custody, spousal/child support, equitable distribution, pre/post-nuptial agreements, adoption, guardianship, and protection from abuse matters
• Regularly communicating and meeting with clients, conducting initial consultations, and providing updates and guidance throughout the case
• Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as pleadings, complaints, motions, briefs, affidavits, and discovery
• Representing clients in court, depositions, mediation, and negotiation proceedings
• Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and policies
• Remaining up to date on changes in family law legislation and case law
• Conducting legal research, and analyzing complex family law issues
• Collaborating with internal family law team to develop effective legal strategies

Candidate Qualifications

• 2-6 years in a litigation practice, preferably family law
• Juris Doctorate degree
• Must be licensed in Pennsylvania
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Word
• Legal research and technical writing skills, including proficiency with legal research tools
• Ability to handle complex litigation matters from inception to trial, including preparation of pleadings and briefs, managing discovery and depositions, and conducting legal research, analysis, and writing
• Experience in both state and federal court proceedings
• Strong academic and employment credentials
• Excellent writing, research, negotiation, and communication skills
• Good interpersonal interaction skills
• Well-organized
• Proven track record of performance

This position is full-time.
