The Role

The Events Houseman is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down event spaces to ensure they are clean, functional, and ready for use. This role is crucial in delivering a seamless and memorable event experience for our members and guests. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable of handling setups, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality and member satisfaction.

Event Setup & Breakdown:

  • Prepare event spaces according to the layout and requirements provided by the Events Manager.
  • Set up furniture, staging, AV equipment, and decorations as needed.
  • Break down and store all event materials after the event, ensuring the space is returned to its original condition.

Event Support:

  • Be available during events to address last-minute setup adjustments or client requests.
  • Assist with moving furniture, AV equipment, or other items during events.
  • Collaborate with the events team to ensure the smooth flow of operations.

Maintenance & Cleanliness:

  • Ensure all equipment, furniture, and materials are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
  • Perform basic cleaning and light maintenance tasks in event areas as needed.
  • Report any damages or equipment malfunctions to the Events Manager.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Follow all safety guidelines when moving heavy items or setting up equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with fire codes, ADA requirements, and other regulations.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments, including Facilities, Catering, and Security, to ensure all event needs are met.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to anticipate and resolve issues.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A passion for creating inviting and impeccably maintained spaces, ensuring every member and guest feels valued and well-cared for upon entering Living Room's environment.
  • A keen understanding of luxury hospitality standards and the best practices for maintaining cleanliness, order, and aesthetic excellence in all public and back-of-house areas.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and positively with team members and members alike, ensuring every interaction reflects empathy, professionalism, and the Living Room ethos.
  • Proven ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, effectively managing priorities and responding to requests with urgency and efficiency to maintain seamless operations.
  • Experience in hospitality or service-focused roles, ideally within a hotel, private club, or luxury resort, showcasing a dedication to upholding exceptional standards in guest-facing and operational settings.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a similar role in hospitality, events, or facilities management is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently.
  • Previous experience in event setup, hospitality, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with AV equipment and basic technical troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of event layouts and furniture arrangements.

Work Conditions:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
