Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager with a strong background in React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will lead a team of talented engineers, drive the development of robust and scalable applications, and ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software engineers.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
Conduct regular one-on-ones and performance reviews.
Identify skills gaps and provide opportunities for growth and development.
Project Management:
Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project scope and requirements.
Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Facilitate Agile/Scrum processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Technical Leadership:
Provide architectural guidance and technical direction for projects.
Ensure the team adheres to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
Review code and provide constructive feedback.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Development and Implementation:
Participate in hands-on coding and development, primarily using React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.
Lead the design and development of scalable and maintainable applications.
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Quality Assurance:
Implement and oversee testing strategies to ensure high-quality software.
Ensure proper documentation of code, processes, and systems.
Continuously improve the development process to enhance efficiency and quality.
Requirements
Requirements
Educational Background:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Proven experience (5+ years) in software development with a focus on React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.
At least 2-3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong experience with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and back-end frameworks.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in React and its ecosystem (Redux, React Router).
Extensive experience with Node.js and Express.
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including database design and optimization.
Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
Soft Skills:
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
Knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
Familiarity with TypeScript and GraphQL.
Previous experience in a start-up or fast-paced environment.
