Solutions Architecture Team

The power, cooling, and networking demands of hyperscale customers are changing at a rate which has not been seen within the data center industry. The Solutions Architecture team is responsible for providing innovative infrastructure solutions that support our customers' infrastructure and operational requirements. Being at the forefront of understanding future customer data center topologies and industry trends, we are responsible for the continuous improvement of Stream Data Centers' standard product to ensure future generations of infrastructure will continue to thrive in our data centers.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Solutions Architecture is responsible for proposing effective data center solutions for prospective projects and supporting the delivery of new capacity. Within Stream Data Centers we continuously act on behalf of our customers to ensure all of our teams are knowledgeable about our customers' built environments and operational requirements. A successful candidate for the Director of Solutions Architecture role will have experience across the broad range of systems and processes that support the critical and high availability data center environments we deliver.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develop thorough and innovative technical responses to customer inquiries for future data center capacity.
• Listen and collaborate with our partners, effectively communicating customers' current and future requirements. Use this understanding to provide structured feedback across the various teams within Stream Data Centers responsible for designing, delivering, and operating data center facilities.
• Solve complex problems to optimize the availability, efficiency, delivery, and operation of future capacity solutions.
• Be passionate about industry trends (IT and built environment) to ensure future SDC product iterations efficiently support customers' infrastructure architectures.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail.
• Support project management functions as needed.
• Perform feasibility assessments of potential data center sites to ensure alignment with technical, operational, and customer-specific requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, construction, and operations, to ensure project deliverables meet customer expectations and industry standards.
• Provide technical leadership during customer engagements, including presentations, workshops, and design reviews.
• Create and maintain documentation for proposed solutions, ensuring clarity and alignment with customer and organizational goals.
• Monitor and assess new technologies and innovations to incorporate into future data center designs and operations.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for technical queries and escalations related to data center solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Respond to customer RFPs and technical diligence requests.
• Act as a voice of the customer during design and operational discussions
• Propose data center space, power, and cooling capacity plans
• Core knowledge of MEP, OSP, ISP, and data center operational systems and processes
• Ensure our future product offerings are at the forefront of data center design
• Travel requirement, 15-30%

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in data center engineering, construction, or operations.
• 3+ years of customer-facing experience managing projects or technical solutioning.
• Proven record of delivering excellent internal and external customer service.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
• Proficiency in MEP systems, BAS networks, architectural space programming, data center operations, capacity planning, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of experience in data center engineering, construction, or operations.
• Advanced degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
• Experience with hyperscale customer environments and infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of CFD software and its application to data center design.
• Demonstrated ability to translate technical requirements into business solutions for finance, product, and construction teams.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies and innovations in data center infrastructure and operations.
