The Director of Transmission Engineering will lead and manage the engineering activities related to the design, development, and implementation of high-voltage transmission systems. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of transmission infrastructure. The Director will oversee engineering teams, collaborate with various stakeholders, and ensure that all projects adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Responsabilities:

  • Direct and manage the transmission engineering team, establishing technical standards and best practices for high-voltage transmission system design and implementation.
  • Oversee the design of transmission systems, including substations and overhead/underground lines, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and review designs to ensure that all engineering documentation meets the required quality and safety standards.
  • Lead the permitting process for transmission projects, coordinating with regulatory agencies to secure necessary approvals and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Ensure all designs and project plans comply with relevant codes, standards, and industry regulations.
  • Implement quality control measures for design processes, conducting regular reviews and audits to identify and mitigate risks associated with transmission projects.
  • Stay current with advancements in transmission technologies and industry best practices, integrating innovative solutions into engineering processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve project delivery timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in transmission engineering or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing high-voltage transmission projects.
  • Strong understanding of transmission system design, high-voltage equipment, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and safety requirements.
