The Director of Solar Construction will oversee all aspects of solar project construction, ensuring that installations are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with engineering specifications and regulatory requirements. This leadership role encompasses managing construction teams, coordinating activities from initial site preparation to final commissioning, and ensuring the successful delivery of solar projects. The Director will have comprehensive knowledge of solar technology, construction processes, and project management.

Requirements

Responsabilities:

  • Direct and manage the construction team, establishing clear objectives and ensuring that construction activities align with project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
  • Provide guidance and oversight throughout the construction process, fostering a culture of excellence and safety on-site.
  • Develop detailed construction plans and schedules for solar projects, coordinating with engineering teams to ensure all technical and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Oversee day-to-day construction operations, managing site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain progress and address any issues that arise.
  • Ensure that all construction activities are performed according to engineering drawings, industry standards, and safety protocols, including installation of photovoltaic (PV) systems, energy storage solutions, and related infrastructure.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality control assessments to verify that construction work meets design specifications and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the permitting process for solar construction projects, coordinating with regulatory agencies to secure necessary approvals and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Ensure that all construction practices comply with local, state, and federal codes and standards.
  • Identify and mitigate construction-related risks, prioritizing safety and enforcing all safety policies, procedures, and training for on-site teams.
  • Foster a strong safety culture on-site, monitoring compliance and addressing any safety concerns promptly to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in solar construction or engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing the construction of solar energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of solar construction methods, high-voltage equipment installation, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Proven track record of managing complex construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and safety requirements.
