Job Description


Position Overview:

Dojo Five is seeking a driven and strategic Director of Sales to spearhead our revenue growth through successful acquisition of new client engagements. This crucial role will be responsible for setting the sales direction for the company, establishing clear and achievable Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and growing and managing a high performing sales team. The successful candidate has worked effectively in a startup environment, demonstrating a proactive approach to building and executing sales strategies.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Sales Leadership:

  • Evolve, refine, and implement a comprehensive sales strategy tailored to the challenges and opportunities within the embedded software development services market.
  • Establish clear and measurable Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the sales function and individual contributors, driving focused and accountable performance.
  • Take ownership of achieving ambitious yet realistic revenue targets for the company.
  • Develop channel partnerships with peers in our ecosystem of service providers
  • Develop a strong understanding of modern embedded development, our service and product offerings, and our value proposition, to engage credibly with potential clients.

Sales Execution and Management:

  • Hire, manage, and mentor sales, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to maximize their individual and team performance.
  • Own account management or collaborate as co-account manager of certain accounts.
  • Building strong relationships with clients.
  • Support marketing and follow up following trade show events.
  • Hold sales team accountable for achieving sales targets and OKRs.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing sales culture within the team.

Sales Operations and Performance Management:

  • Establish and refine sales processes, tools, and methodologies to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage and oversee sales automation and reporting tools.
  • Develop and track key sales metrics and provide regular reporting on progress towards OKRs and revenue targets.
  • Analyze sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and inform strategic adjustments.

Requirements

  • Minneapolis / St. Paul, MN base and ability to work hybrid strongly preferred
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in progressive sales roles in software development or technology services - embedded firmware services strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success operating and driving results within a startup company, including experience in setting direction, executing successful sales strategies, establishing OKRs, building a sales team, and holding team members accountable.
  • Deep understanding of the complexities of selling technical services to clients with internal technical teams.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand and discuss technical services and concepts with clients. Aptitude to learn to sell embedded software development
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience hiring, managing, and mentoring sales professionals.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred).

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
