The Director of Power Substation Engineering will lead the engineering efforts related to the design, development, and implementation of electrical substations. This role is essential in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of substations within the power delivery infrastructure. The Director will oversee engineering teams, manage design standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Requirements

Responsabilities:

  • Direct and manage the substation engineering team, establishing and promoting technical standards and best practices for substation design and implementation.
  • Oversee the design of substations, including layout, equipment selection, and system integration, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Review and approve engineering documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Lead the permitting process for substation projects, coordinating with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary approvals and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Ensure that all designs meet local, state, and federal codes and standards, as well as industry guidelines.
  • Implement quality control measures for design and engineering processes, conducting regular audits to identify and mitigate risks associated with substation projects.
  • Work closely with project managers, construction teams, and external consultants to ensure seamless integration of engineering plans into project execution.
  • Maintain effective communication with regulatory bodies, utility providers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in substation engineering or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing substation design and construction.
  • Strong understanding of substation design principles, high-voltage equipment, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and safety requirements.
