Role Summary

Renew Home is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join our dynamic finance team. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions within the company. This role will work closely with the executive leadership team and our private equity investors to provide insights that guide strategic decisions, ensure financial health, and enable scalable growth. You will build and refine financial models, manage budgeting and forecasting processes, and provide critical data-driven insights to support business decisions in this fast-paced, innovative environment.

This position requires a highly analytical mindset, strong business acumen, and the ability to collaborate across functions and with investors to ensure financial goals and strategic priorities are met.

What You Will Do

  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the preparation and coordination of the annual budget, monthly/quarterly forecasts, and long-term strategic plans for the organization. Ensure alignment with the company's strategic objectives and operational priorities.
  • Business Partnering: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Operations, to provide financial insights that drive business performance and enhance operational decision-making.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Develop and present comprehensive financial reporting packages for senior management and the Board of Directors, including variance analysis, key performance indicators (KPIs), and ad-hoc financial models.
  • Forecasting: Provide accurate and timely financial forecasts and ensure they reflect the company's evolving business needs, identifying risks and opportunities that may impact financial performance.
  • M&A, Partnership, and Business Development Support: Collaborate with Exec team and Investors to analyze acquisitions, potential partnerships, and business development opportunities.
  • Capital Raise Preparation and Support: Work with Investors, Legal, and Exec team to raise equity and debt financing on attractive terms.Develop financial models, scenario analysis, and provide diligence responses.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement improvements to financial processes and reporting, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and decision support.
  • Accounting & Controls: Develop and improve internal financial processes, systems, and tools to support scalable growth in a startup environment.Collaborate with accounting and operations teams to ensure accurate reporting, alignment of financials, and compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate financial performance, trends, and risks to executive leadership, investors, and other stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency in financial matters.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior FP&A team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Systems: Lead the implementation of a new forecasting tool (Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Planful, etc?).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience with a combination of corporate finance (ideally Financial Planning & Analysis or similar roles) AND investment banking, banking, or private equity is strictly required.
  • In absence of having professional experience in both corporate finance and investment banking, banking, or private equity you must possess 7+ years of experience in one category, alongside experience in the energy space, and a degree from a tier one university.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and forecasting skills, with a deep understanding of financial statements and KPIs.
  • Experience with budgeting, variance analysis, and financial reporting processes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership to provide strategic financial insights and decision support.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Sheets, Excel, and financial modeling tools; experience with ERP and FP&A software (e.g., NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Planful, or similar) is required.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a startup environment where priorities can shift rapidly.
  • Strong business acumen with a passion for contributing to the growth and success of a high-impact renewables company.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

  • A full-time position, with a competitive salary based on experience. The base salary for this role is: $190k - $230k.
