Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and strategicDirector of Financeto oversee the financial operations of ourbiotech organization. This role will be instrumental in driving financial planning, managing reporting and compliance, and supporting the company's growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background infinancial strategy, operational efficiency, and biotech industry regulations, as well as the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Financial Planning & Strategy: Develop and execute financial plans, forecasts, and budgets to align with business objectives.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports in compliance withGAAP, SEC, and other regulatory standards.
- Operational Efficiency & Cost Management: Identify opportunities toimprove financial processes, optimize costs, and enhance profitability.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Monitor financial risks, ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and implement internal controls.
- Cash Flow & Capital Management: Managecash flow, working capital, and financial resourcesto support business operations and investments.
- Business Partnering & Decision Support: Provide financial insights toexecutive leadership, R&D, operations, and commercial teamsto support strategic decision-making.
- Investor & Stakeholder Relations: Support the CFO in managing relationships withinvestors, lenders, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Mergers, Acquisitions & Growth Initiatives: Assist in evaluating potential acquisitions, partnerships, and financing strategies to support the company's expansion.
- Finance Team Leadership: Lead and mentor finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and excellence.
Requirements
- Education:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
- Experience:8+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, preferably in thebiotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry.
- Technical Expertise:Strong knowledge ofGAAP, SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and biotech financial modeling.
- Analytical & Strategic Thinking:Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic insights.
- Systems & Tools:Proficiency inERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)and financial planning tools.
- Soft Skills:Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Industry Knowledge:Familiarity withbiotech R&D funding, clinical trial budgeting, and government grant complianceis a plus.
