Director of Christian Music and Youth Programs

Assists with the spiritual care of the residents of Boys Ranch through music, pastoral care, and youth activities.

Requirements

Essential Duties:

1. Exhibits regular and punctual attendance.

2. Exhibits appropriate interaction with residents in accordance with Cal Farley's Model of Leadership and Service.

3. Provides spiritual guidance to residents/staff as needed and reports the results of such guidance to appropriate staff.

4. Provides hospital visitation to residents and staff.

5. Provides crisis intervention for residents using approved intervention techniques.

6. Assists in the design and implementation of an interdenominational Christian chapel program that is purposeful and promotes positive peer culture and spiritual growth.

7. Conducts an interdenominational Christian music program that promotes positive peer culture and spiritual growth. Utilizes a variety of music styles, both traditional and contemporary.

8. Provides individual and group Christian music instruction to residents & staff and assists with the development of student music groups.

9. Prepares and provides music for special events such as annual Cantata service, Rodeo, graduation, weddings, funerals, and holidays that is occasion-appropriate, well-rehearsed, and maximizes student involvement.

10. Supervises age-appropriate youth groups.

11. Speaking and teaching at services and events when needed.

12. Provides audio/video support for special events and services.

13. Assists in coordinating trips and other chapel activities.

14. Advises Senior Chaplain on youth activity budget matters.

15. Accountable for Chapel programming inventories.

16. Assist with funerals and graveside services when needed (includes officiating/conducting the service, when needed).

17.Assists in the implementation and operation of the childcare program in accordance with the Cal Farley's Model of Leadership and Service.

18. All other assigned duties.
