New Horizons, a nonprofit serving special needs adults in the San Fernando Valley for more than 60 years, seeks a self-starter to be a  CLS - Direct Support Staff

This will be a very rewarding experience for reliable people who have a passion to help others.

A perfect part-time or second job!

No experience necessary. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Flexible availability. 20 - 30 hours a week

Rate: $19.00 - $20.00

SUMMARY:  Provides customized, in-person services to Members in a variety of locations. Services include training, assistance, supports, and education regarding service options, rights and responsibilities. Locations may include agency, residential, and community sites. The services are person-centered and based on the Individual Program Plan and formatted to increase the abilities of the individual to move to a less restrictive and more inclusive program and/or environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities  include, but not limited to the following:

• Develops an activity program based on the needs of the Member with the goal of more independence and movement to a less restrictive and more inclusive environment.
• Teaches the Member appropriate behaviors and attitudes that may facilitate goals.
• Assists the Member in developing appropriate relationship and social skills.

Requirements

• Must speak English
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Driver's License for 3+ years required. Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
