Role Summary:

The Deputy Director-Operations at Messe Muenchen India will play a crucial role in the execution and management of operational strategies for our trade fairs and events. This leadership position requires an individual with a strong background in operations management, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The Deputy Director will support the Director in ensuring seamless operations, adherence to budgets, and maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Assist the Director-Operations in developing and implementing operational strategies that enhance efficiency and improve overall execution for trade fairs and events.
  • Oversee the planning and logistics of events, ensuring all elements from venue selection to on-site management are executed flawlessly.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, and Finance to establish operational objectives that align with business goals.
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring high standards of service delivery in all aspects of operations.
  • Monitor and control operational budgets, optimizing resource allocation to maximize profitability.
  • Lead project management efforts for multiple trade fairs, ensuring deadlines are met, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement innovative solutions to enhance the attendee experience and operational efficiency.
  • Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for operational tasks and processes.
  • Conduct post-event analysis and evaluations to assess performance against objectives and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build and lead a capable operations team through effective coaching, performance management, and development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Event Management, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the trade fair or events industry.
  • Proven track record in managing complex operations and successful execution of large-scale events.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with experience in leading and developing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Flexibility to travel and work extended hours as needed during events.
