Job Description

Direct Counsel is currently seeking experienced Defense Litigation Associates to join our team. As a Defense Litigation Associate, you will be responsible for handling a diverse caseload primarily consisting of insurance defense litigation matters. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic and collaborative team of attorneys and gain valuable experience in the field of litigation.

Requirements

The ideal candidates for these positions will possess the following qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Admission to practice law in the state where the position is located
Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
Strong knowledge and understanding of substantive and procedural law
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage a high caseload and prioritize tasks effectively
Experience conducting legal research and drafting legal documents
Strong advocacy skills and ability to effectively represent clients in court

Benefits

The salary range for this position at the time of posting is $140,000 - $160,000 annually, based upon a full-time work schedule. Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to employee qualifications, relevant experience, skill sets, training, internal equity, and market data. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, this firm offers employees the ability to participate in health insurance with optional HSA/FSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, 401K, vacation, sick time, parking/public transportation allowance, and an employee assistance program.
