Data Privacy Associate

Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LLC is currently seeking an AssociateAttorney for its Philadelphia or Pittsburgh office. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience preferably with data privacy, data security and/or HIPAA privacy matters. Incident response experience and knowledge of privacy laws is essential. Excellent academic credentials and previous judicial clerk and/or law firm experience are strongly preferred. The attorney hired for this position will work directly with partners and other associates on a variety of data privacy matters.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist with data breach notification obligations and actions including to lead or assist (as required) with data incident management, including breach notifications as may be required.
• Assist in the review and coordination of potential privacy or data security incidents, including investigations, notifications, and other resolution efforts.
• Assist with cybersecurity and data breach incident response, including preparation of required notifications pursuant to breach notification law.
• Assist with research and providing counsel to clients concerning compliance with and obligations under US state, federal and international privacy regulations

Qualifications:

• Strong writing and analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to distill research into meaningful and persuasive written work product
• 2 to 4 years' experience required
