With this acquisition, Amazon merged two of India?s most popular free AVOD (or ad-supported video on demand) services ? MX Player and Amazon miniTV into one service - Amazon MX Player.

Amazon MX Player is Amazon India?s big bet in terms of shaping the future of the free AVOD landscape in India. We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong analytical, communication, and project management skills to join our team. This is the senior most data engineering role within the Amazon MX Player org. Working closely with business stakeholders, software development engineers, and scientist colleagues, you will design, evangelize, and implement state-of-the-art solutions that help us provide a great customer experience. You will work with a complicated data environment, employ the right architecture to handle data, and support various analytics use cases including business reporting, production data pipeline, machine learning, optimization models, statistical models, and simulations.

Key job responsibilities:

Design/implement automation and manage our massive data infrastructure to scale for the analytics needs of Amazon MXP Player.

Build solutions to achieve BAA (Best At Amazon) standards for system efficiency, IMR efficiency, data availability, consistency & compliance.

Enable efficient data exploration, experimentation of large datasets on our data platform and implement data access control mechanisms for stand-alone datasets

Design and implement scalable and cost effective data infrastructure to enable Non-IN(Emerging Marketplaces and WW) use cases on our data platform

Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Amazon and AWS big data technologies

Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven, and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Drive operational excellence strongly within the team and build automation and mechanisms to reduce operations

Enjoy working closely with your peers in a group of very smart and talented engineers.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of data engineering experience

Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

Experience with SQL

Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS

Experience mentoring team members on best practices

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR

Experience operating large data warehouses
