Intact?s Global Specialty Lines business spans across more than 20 verticals in four distinct markets: U.S., Canada, UK and Europe. The following opportunity is for our U.S. team.

The opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for a Corporate Counsel to join our U.S. Corporate Legal team in our Plymouth, MN office or remotely nationwide. This position is responsible for providing broad-based corporate legal support to Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions and managing routine and complex legal, transactional and insurance regulatory matters. Some of the Corporate Counsel responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide broad-based legal and compliance support to Intact?s U.S. corporate functions and business units, including working closely with business leaders to provide practical and risk-based, legal advice and compliance solutions.
• Advise on a broad range of business, legal, and regulatory matters, including strategic transactions, contracts, governance, insurance regulatory compliance, financial reporting, reinsurance, information technology, mergers and acquisitions, non-claims litigation and data privacy and cybersecurity.
• Provide legal advice with respect to strategic, cross-functional and/or cross-border projects, as assigned.
• Assist in developing, implementing and continually improving processes and procedures to increase scalability and efficiency of the team.
• Deploy strong and mature legal judgment, interpersonal skills and influence to build effective working relationships with legal and business colleagues.

The expertise you bring

• JD from an accredited law school and an excellent academic background. Current attorney license in good standing.
• Minnesota bar admission required and at least 5 years of practice in corporate law, preferably with large law firm or equivalent and in-house experience. Experience in insurance or financial services industry is a plus.

Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires, but your recruiter will share more specific compensation information with you during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $129,000 ? $182,000, based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $163,000 -$190,000. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits to include:
