The Continuous Improvement Specialist position develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Carries out process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training

Improves manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency

Prepares and presents plans for the above and coordinate deployment including training of team members

Assists Operations in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training

Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment

Designs, builds and /or sources and cost justifies, fixtures, racks and carts to improve production efficiency and safety

Designs, develops, and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended methods

Performs product/process analysis of production for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency

Assist in the day-to-day resolution of problems arising on the production floor

Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering a plus

Lean manufacturing experience preferred

Certification in MIG and TIG welding strongly preferred

Good metal fabrication skill and experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within assembly line and/or fabrication environments

Results-oriented and self-driven

Strong leadership and training abilities

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and AutoCAD/SolidWorks
