Job Description
Goodwin seeks a highly qualified senior-level associate (4-6 years of experience) to join our Consumer Financial Services Litigation and Enforcement practice in our Washington, D.C. office or one of our other U.S.-based offices. This position will focus on advising financial services clients on a wide range of federal and state regulatory compliance issues, responding to regulator inquiries and investigations, and supporting clients in navigating the evolving legal requirements across consumer financial products and services. We are particularly interested in candidates with prior government experience (e.g. CFPB, OCC, FTC, DOJ, or state AGs or regulators) or those with experience handling regulatory exams, enforcement actions, policy development, or complex litigation matters. Experience with residential mortgage regulations, enforcement actions, and/or litigation will be a plus. Candidates should have strong analytical and drafting skills, familiarity with the regulatory framework governing consumer finance products, and the willingness and ability to engage in all levels of client needs in the space, including litigation. Other professional levels also subject to consideration based on candidate qualifications and experience.
The ideal candidate will have relevant federal government experience. Additionally, candidates applying for attorney positions with Goodwin should have outstanding academic credentials, comparable law firm experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
