Responsibilities and practice Dentons US LLP is seeking a driven mid-level associate to join our dynamic and expanding Construction team in either our New York or St. Louis office. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with 3-5 years of experience with real estate and/or construction transactional or litigation experience who are eager to focus on the fast-paced and ever-evolving world of construction law. You will work side-by-side with experienced partners, engaged associates, and industry-leading clients on a wide range of high-impact construction projects nationally and internationally, gaining hands-on experience in both transactional and litigation matters, and project counseling. As a Construction Associate, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our clients through every phase of the construction process. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Client Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing practical, business-oriented solutions to construction challenges throughout the lifecycle of a project?from inception to final completion to operation. You will have the opportunity to directly interact with clients Team Collaboration: Work closely in a collaborative environment with colleagues across the firm to deliver seamless, integrated service on multi-faceted construction matters Drafting and Negotiating Construction Agreements: Draft manuscript design, development, and construction agreements, and work with AIA and other industry-standard forms to prepare, review, and negotiate construction contracts, design-build agreements, EPC contracts, development agreements, design agreements, and all transactional documents necessary for a construction project Transactional Support: Collaborate with internal and client teams on the structuring, coordination and execution of complex transactions with multiple stakeholders related to real estate development and construction projects Due Diligence and Research: Conduct thorough due diligence and legal research to support project development and risk management Managing Construction Disputes: Assist in resolving construction-related disputes, including defect and delay claims, through arbitration and litigation At Dentons, you'll be part of a cooperative, forward-thinking team that values innovation, training, and practical problem-solving. Join us at Dentons and help build the future?one project at a time. Pursuant to New York law, the salary range for this position in New York City is $260,000 to $365,000, based on experience. Based on years of experience, Dentons US LLP associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate. Dentons US LLP offers a competitive salary and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, short-term/long-term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses. Position requirements Personal skills/attributes Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive work product Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen understanding of construction and real estate concepts Excellent interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment A collaborative spirit and enthusiasm for working as part of a high-performing team Technical skills 3-5 years of sophisticated real estate practice experience; prior law firm experience is required Construction law experience is highly valued, but not mandatory Other requirements Admission to, and good standing with, the State Bar of New York or Missouri Submission of a resume, writing sample, and law school transcript with application materials Equal opportunities Dentons US LLP is an Equal Opportunity Employer ?
