Role: COBOL Developer

Infotel India Consulting (part of Infotel Group) is seeking a talented COBOL Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing COBOL applications within a mainframe environment. You'll work closely with analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and enhance existing systems to meet business needs. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications and programs.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
• Perform debugging and troubleshooting to resolve defects and issues within applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide solutions.
• Write technical documentation and provide training and support to users as needed.
• Participate in system testing and user acceptance testing activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a COBOL Developer, ideally 3+ years in mainframe environments.
• Strong knowledge of COBOL programming language and related technologies.
• Experience with database technologies, particularly DB2, would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with CICS or JCL is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience in Agile methodologies will be beneficial.
