The Role

The Door Person/Club Ma?tre D? plays an essential role as the first point of contact for members and guests, setting the tone for their experience at Living Room. This individual ensures a seamless, warm welcome and maintains an atmosphere of exclusivity and sophistication. The ideal candidate is personable, confident, highly organized, and has a keen eye for detail to manage the flow of members and guests efficiently.

  • Door management: Greet members and their guests with a warm, professional demeanor, making them feel welcomed and valued. Ensure that guests adhere to the club's entrance policies, maintaining a balance of inclusivity and exclusivity. Verify memberships and guest lists while coordinating with the membership team to facilitate entry.
  • Ambassador of First Impressions: Act as an ambassador of the club, offering knowledge and insight about current events, club offerings, and general amenities. Build and maintain relationships with regular members, remembering their preferences to personalize their experiences.
  • Crowd Management: Manage the flow of members and guests during busy times, coordinating with security and the hosting team to maintain order and safety. Work closely with the Front of House and Events teams to monitor occupancy levels and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Communication and Coordination: Liaise with the internal team to provide updates on VIP arrivals, special guests, and event timing. Maintain clear and proactive communication with fellow staff to ensure smooth operations and a seamless guest experience.
  • Problem-Solving: Handle any guest inquiries or issues with professionalism and discretion, offering appropriate solutions or escalating to the relevant department when necessary. Anticipate potential challenges related to crowd control or entry procedures and proactively address them.

Environment Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of the entryway and surrounding areas. Ensure that the entrance reflects the upscale nature of the Living Room brand at all times.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years in a similar role within a high-end hospitality, club, or event setting.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a strong emphasis on communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations calmly and with a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Personable and confident, with a welcoming presence.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism, particularly when dealing with high-profile members and guests.
  • A genuine interest in creating memorable guest experiences.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality training or coursework is a plus.
