Job Description

We're looking for a Cloud Engineer who doesn't just use the cloudthey shape it.

At Aviture, we're not interested in doing things the usual way. We build solutions that matter, and now we're standing up a major new capability for one of our customers. That's where you come in. We're looking for a hands-on Cloud Engineer to work onsite at a customer facility, representing Aviture and leading the charge on modern infrastructure, scalability, and reliability from day one.

You won't just be spinning up EC2s or setting IAM roles, you'll be architecting solutions, automating deployments, and building the foundation for what this line of business can become. If you love cloud engineering and the strategy behind it, read on.

What You'll Actually Be Doing:

  • Deploying, configuring, and maintaining cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCPwe go where the mission takes us).
  • Working side-by-side with customer teams to build scalable, secure, and maintainable cloud environments.
  • Automating deployments and environments with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
  • Building CI/CD pipelines that get code to production safely and efficiently. Because "it works on my machine" isn't a strategy.
  • Monitoring, logging, and optimizing system performance, availability, and cost (we like uptime and budget discipline).
  • Managing access, roles, permissions, and security policies that keep our data safe and our auditors happy.
  • Troubleshooting issues across the full stack, from infrastructure to application, and helping teams move fast without breaking things.
  • Shaping technical decisions for this engagement and contributing to Aviture's growing cloud engineering playbook.

This is an onsite role at a customer facility , and you'll be one of our first cloud engineers on the ground. You won't just be building systems, you'll be building trust, process, and future opportunity.

If you're looking for the kind of challenge where you can leave your mark, let's talk.

Requirements

What You Bring:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience solving cloud problems in the real world.
  • 3+ years in a cloud engineering or DevOps role, with hands-on experience in at least one major cloud provider.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) and configuration management (Ansible, Chef, or similar).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or whatever gets the job done.
  • A strong understanding of networking, IAM, monitoring, and cloud security best practices.
  • Comfort working in a Linux-heavy environment (and maybe wrangling some Windows now and then).
  • Great communication skills. You can collaborate with devs, ops, and non-technical stakeholders without dropping packets.

Benefits

  • PPO or a High Deductible Health Plan, HSA eligible plan, Dental, Vision, and Supplemental Life.
  • Generous paid time off that starts accruing on day one.
  • Hybrid work environment with quarterly Castaway Week events in the Omaha HQ Office, all expenses paid, from across the country to participate in team-building, collaboration, and fun events.
  • Company vacations!!! Previous destinations have included Napa Valley, Cancun, Cabo San Lucas and Aspen.
  • Matching 401k with 100% vesting in six months.
  • Pick your preferred workstation! Mac? PC? We'll support you with the tech you need to do your best work.
  • Get paid to go to national and international conferences and training, so that you can stay up to date with the latest innovations.
  • Flexible work schedules: Work the times that fits your schedule, with all meetings required to be scheduled between 9 am and 3 pm CST.
  • Free lunch every Friday and recurring team events for you and your family to enjoy.
  • Incentive and bonus pay.
  • Opportunities for connection and growth through peer coaching, recurring Lightning Talks to share things we're passionate about, and a bi-weekly company-wide All Hands.
