Child Therapist/Supervisor

Counseling of Alexandria is looking for a dedicated and experienced Child Therapist/Supervisor to join our expanding team. This role is designed for a licensed professional who is passionate about child therapy and committed to fostering the growth of less experienced therapists. You will have the opportunity to provide direct therapy to children while also supervising and mentoring other staff members in their therapeutic practices.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Conduct therapy sessions with children and families facing various emotional and behavioral challenges.

Supervise, train, and support junior therapists, providing feedback and guidance on their clinical practices.

Collaborate in developing treatment plans tailored to meet the specific needs of child clients.

Ensure that all therapeutic interventions meet professional standards and align with best practices in the field of child therapy.

Engage with families to provide education and resources that support their child's healing journey.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and supervisor notes in compliance with HIPAA and agency policies.

Participate in program development and quality improvement initiatives to enhance therapeutic services.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Social Work.
• Current licensure as an LCSW in Virginia.
• Minimum of 3 years of post-licensure experience working with children in a therapeutic setting.
• Prior experience in a supervisory role or strong desire to mentor and lead.
• Specialized training and experience in child therapy approaches, including trauma-informed care and play therapy.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with children, families, and team members.
• Ability to create a supportive and collaborative work environment.
