Job Title: Business Development Analyst Intern for Science & Space (S&S)
Job Location: Chantilly, VA and Fulton, MD with Hybrid work. Must be located in VA, DC, or MD
Duration: Summer 2025 (May- August 2025)
Overview: KBR is seeking a highly motivated college student to join Science & Space?s Business Development (BD) organization. This internship opportunity will provide challenging and meaningful work experience as part of our 2025 summer Intern class. The main responsibilities include working with the business development team in pursuit of government contracts focused on NASA mission, military health and human performance services, and Federal Civilian agency mission technology solutions. The BD Analyst intern will be mentored and guided by a full time BD Analyst to obtain a full understanding of the importance of the role and to become involved with the full lifecycle of program pursuits.
Responsibilities:
Analysts will ensure all BD actions are tracked and responded to and provide ad-hoc and routine support to the BD and Capture Directors, BD VP, Operations Directors, and VP on all activities related to Business Development and Strategy.
+ Implement and maintain data in Salesforce and ensure the BD Operations team is maximizing use of the tool within Operations, such as development of dashboards, views, reports, etc. The BD analyst will ensure all data for BD is accurate and actions are tracked and responded to.
Will work collaboratively across the company to ensure success, build relationships with counterparts in BD, Operations, and other functions to promote pipeline visibility.
+ Monitor the Operating Group?s pipeline, submittals, and awards. Ensure opportunity data accuracy including ensuring exceptions are resolved quickly and coordinating with the Intel Group power users for their respective operations.
In this role, you are expected to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and proactively identify gaps and areas for improvement for the BD operations overall.
+ Participate in all business planning activities, scheduling and facilitating BD presentations, to include pipeline reviews, milestone reviews, weekly and monthly BD reporting
Ensure all BD-related actions are tracked and coordinated with appropriate owners for closure.
Review and monitor BD spending activities and assist with the Annual Operating Plan by working with the finance team.
Utilize Power BI for advanced reporting
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Business, Finance or related fields.
Demonstrated skills using automated tools such as Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) to present ideas, information, and reports
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity or willingness to learn about government solicitation documents, including standard RFP structure
Ability to manage and prioritize time between regular duties, ad hoc requests, and higher-level corporate priorities/initiatives
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Desired Qualifications:
Rising Junior or higher
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex systems and propose improvements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated with a collaborative mindset; enjoys working in team environments.
Basic Compensation
$20.43 - $30.67 per hour
The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate?s working location, knowledge, skills, and abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
