Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst with a strong background in software testing, coordination, defect management , and stakeholder communication . This role requires a proactive professional who can bridge business needs with technical solutions while ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
A key requirement for this role is prior experience working with state or local government agencies . The ideal candidate understands the unique processes, regulations, and communication protocols within public sector environments.
Key Responsibilities- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from various stakeholders.
- Coordinate testing activities, including test planning, execution, and reporting.
- Perform hands-on testing when necessary and support QA teams during all testing phases.
- Manage and track defects through resolution, ensuring timely communication with development and testing teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize requirements, clarify business needs, and ensure project alignment.
- Facilitate meetings, document decisions, and ensure effective communication across cross-functional teams.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications and work closely with development teams.
- Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) and end-user training when required.
Requirements
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT or software development projects.
- Proven experience with test coordination, test case management, and defect lifecycle management.
- Strong experience working with stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements.
- Must have previous experience working with state or local government agencies .
- Familiarity with project management and testing tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
- Understanding of government procurement, compliance, and reporting standards.
- Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA) or ISTQB is a plus.
