Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer to be based in Buffalo, New York.

Our Structural Engineers are integral to the planning, preparation, and design of New York Transportation bridge projects. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of critical design/build projects, including small, medium, and large-scale initiatives, as well as long-span bridges. The role demands a high level of expertise and commitment to excellence in structural engineering.

Key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

Serving as a technical advisor for the team, providing specialized input for studies and designs within the engineer's area of expertise

Developing and implementing rigorous study and design procedures to ensure high-quality, cost-effective work

Conducting comprehensive interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables

Formulating precise construction cost estimates and technical effort projections for projects

Applying expert knowledge throughout all stages of completing discipline components of PS&E packages

Executing thorough quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings

Composing technical specification sections with meticulous attention to detail

Contributing critical input to the development of engineering budgets and schedules to meet stringent project requirements

Collaborating with a global network of professionals to address complex engineering challenges

This position requires a dedicated professional capable of maintaining the highest standards of structural engineering in a demanding and dynamic environment.

Qualifications

MINIMUM Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus four years of relevant experience in transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to hold a PE license in both NY and NJ within 12 months of hire

Experience working with bridges - rail and highway bridge projects

Experience working in NY agencies

Proficiency with CAD and similar computer software

Relocation is not available for this position

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $100,000.00 - $120,000.00.
