The Amazon Search team develops customer-focused search and advertising solutions. Our services activate whenever a customer interacts with Amazon's product catalog, enabling millions of daily searches across our global websites. We design, develop, and deploy high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed systems that power these critical customer experiences. Within this ecosystem, the Search Relevance team plays a crucial role in optimizing the quality and effectiveness of search results. Our mission is to enhance the search experience as Amazon expands into new markets and product categories. We create innovative infrastructure and solutions that streamline expansion processes and improve functionality from day one.
We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will be analytical, detail-oriented, and customer-focused, with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and business needs. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with good analytical skills, thinks in terms of automation, makes comprehensive technical decisions balancing short-term and long-term needs and drives projects to completion with minimal supervision.
Key job responsibilities
Extract insights from complex data sets
Collaborate with stakeholders to solve business problems using data and analytics
Design and implement automated data infrastructure
Support economists and data scientists on analytical projects
Work with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-facing features
Learn and apply new technologies to support innovation
Drive data integration projects
Basic Qualifications
2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
