The Automation Engineering Intern will work alongside the automation engineers to power up, test, and qualify custom automation equipment that are used to produce diagnostic disposables. The team member will be responsible for learning the tool development process through various phases and providing support during validation and launch.

This position is part of the Automation Engineering Team and will be located in Newark, CA.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Participate in the day-to-day activities, provide guidance to the manufacturing team, participate in continuous improvement discussions and provide ideas and feedback

Communicate progress and provide ideas /solutions to address technical and logistical issues

Documentation of tool performance

Work with the automation and controls engineers to ensure proper machine functionality

Perform various non-repetitive engineering functions using PC and available portals

Build product and sub-assemblies according to design requirements and specifications

Provide timely and detailed status updates

The essential requirements of the job include:

General knowledge of precision mechanisms, pneumatics, servo systems, electronics, vibratory feeders, sensors, vision systems, ultrasonic welding and heat sealing

Ability to read and interpret electrical /pneumatics schematics diagrams

Ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly and detailed drawings

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

SolidWorks knowledge

Autocad Knowledge

Basic knowledge of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

The hourly range for this role is

$28.00-30.00. This is the rate that we in good faith believe is the rate of compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
