Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated first- or second-year associate to join our dynamic Medical Malpractice and Commercial Litigation teams. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in two challenging and rewarding practice areas, working alongside experienced trial attorneys and business litigators. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent research and writing skills, strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and briefs.
Assist with medical record reviews, expert analysis, and factual investigation in medical malpractice matters.
Support commercial litigation cases involving business disputes, contracts, and tort claims.
Prepare deposition summaries, case chronologies, and litigation reports.
Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and client meetings under the supervision of senior attorneys.
Participate in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witnesses, and developing trial strategies.
Communicate effectively with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Stay updated on developments in both medical malpractice defense and commercial litigation.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law, or pending admission, in [insert jurisdiction].
0?2 years of litigation experience (clerkship, summer associate, or internship experience in litigation preferred).
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills.
